Climate in North Tenerife

The wet season takes place between October and April, when the average days of rain per month increases to ten. This area has much more rainfall than the two or three days per month in the wet season in the south of the island.

Spring
In this season, temperatures tend to be cooler than in the south of the island, with night-time temperatures falling to ten degrees or lower. Days are usually dry, except in March and April. Dawn and dusk take place at seven in the morning and seven in the evening respectively, with temperatures gradually increasing as the days get longer due to more hours of sunlight.
Summer
Temperatures at this time of year are at their highest, usually with daily highs of 20-25 degrees. In extreme cases, the region has registered highs of 40 degrees, but this is not common at all, given that the island’s geographical conditions usually do not allow such a phenomenon to occur. At this time of year, the sun is very much the star of the show, with sunshine practically every day of the season, except maybe two or three days of rain per month.
Autumn
The rainy season begins in mid-October, whereas in the south of the island it doesn’t begin until November. The weather at this time of year is cooler, with daytime temperatures of approximately 20 degrees. However, at night temperatures can drop to as a low as 3 or 4 degrees.
Winter
Temperatures in this region are the coolest on the island, but winters are always milder those on the majority of the Peninsula. Temperatures in North Tenerife during the winter months reach roughly 13-14 degrees during the day with night-time lows similar to autumn, dipping to 3 or 4 degrees. Sunrise is at around 8am and sunset at 6pm
